Project Description

Westcott House is situated on Jesus Lane close to the centre of Cambridge. It was founded in 1881 by the then Regius Professor of Divinity, later Bishop of Durham, Brook Foss Westcott, as “the Clergy Training School”, a residential college for Anglican ordinands. While its student body is diverse and reflects the breadth of the Church of England, Westcott has firm roots in the catholic tradition within Anglicanism. Our community’s life is framed and fashioned by a pattern of worship: the Eucharist and daily offices, through which we live and work together to serve God’s mission of the Kingdom. We see four key dimensions to formation for ministry, which we sum up as growing in holiness, wisdom, compassion and openness
